so i've got a locksmith coming tomorrow to change two of the doorknobs in the house. turns out boney CAN open the doors, and she has shown great determination to do it again. they don't use the round turning knobs here like they do in the states, or so i've seen, so i'm curious what they'll come up with that is boney-proof.
we have our first houseguest coming into town this weekend for the formula one race in hockenheim. no, i'm not going. sean is looking forward to it though, of course. i'm in a mad scramble to get the house presentable. i hired a cleaning lady yesterday (thank you, thank you, thank you sean!), but unfortunately she can't start until next week so i'm on my own with the organization AND the cleaning.
i'm also working on planning a vacation in august to france, most likely to the bordeaux region. if anyone has any tips or advice on where to go, please let me know. we've waited until the last minute, of course, and finding a hotel that will take three big dogs isn't so easy... wish me luck.
i just sent out a note to friends and family letting you all know where this blog is. i'm curious to see who actually reads it, so leave a comment for me if you do. until now, i think there were three people who knew about it (hi kimberly, sean, and sarah!), but i've decided not to be shy and put it out there. and if any of you read this in texas and want to send me a chicken guacamole tubular taco and some creamy jalepeno ranch from chuy's, let me know. i'm getting desperate. sean, we need to go to stuttgart and try out that "fabulous" mexican place you were told about.
i promise, once i finish this house, my life will be a bit more entertaining...

suspect00, who are you??? i think you're sarah...
Kelleeee! Great to hear from you and welcome to the blogosphere. You are way ahead of me. Sorry about the housecleaning this weekend - it's my least favorite thing to do, next to working on large excel spreadsheets, which for some reason I happen to be doing too much of lately. I'll bet it will be fun having a house guest, though. We missed you at SATC. It was quite an experience. Who ARE the oconus girls these days? Auf weidersehen for now. (Speaking of, new season of Project Runway is starting up again - yea!)
speaking of project runway...did you SEE the raincoat outfit tonight? the funniest part was when the guy (jerry?) was giving his exit interview saying, "i make beautiful clothes" and you could see this hideous, white tenty thing he had made on the mannequin in the background. i howled with laughter and made pete rewind it so i could take a closer look.
you two seem to be forgetting my television situation... okay, so we do have british satellite tv, but if we end up getting american project runway, it will be weeks... maybe months. could be a year, even. sean set up a slingbox so i can watch my mother-in-laws tv (and record, so i don't have to stay up until 2am to watch primetime) but he heasn't really shown me how to use it yet...
I'm so glad you're blogging! I feel like you're closer when I get to hear all the stories! John loves the girls' sheep costumes. I know he's not supposed to have favorites but he likes bonita a whole lot.
thanks for calling on my bday...it was great talking!
btw, I'm still laughing about the brick dance story :-)
Hey Kelly!
It's good to hear from you! I'll be living vicariously through you, if you don't mind - I'd give anything to be in Europe right now.
