dogs catch the yawns from people

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26045097/?GT1=43001

that dogs catch the yawns from people is interesting, but really not surprising to me.

however, the dog yawning in the photo is getting fitted for his new fleece jacket in "Germany's first custom tailor shop for dogs in Leipzig."

oh. my. goodness. leipzig is only 4 hours from here. i've gotta get the girls in for a fitting. greyhounds need jackets, it's not fashion, it's a necessity...

(and you see what i mean about my hair worries? she appears to be sporting a mullet. which is not at all uncommon among women here...)

go to houndtogs.com

that's where i got bailey's winter coat and his "snood." i still have them, in fact. very high quality and they fit great (you do have to measure your dogs though). you can order online and have it shipped to you. bailey's coat is the second one down, the brown with the black turtleneck!! and the snood was the, uh, leopard print one. pete refused to walk him when he was wearing it =)

i'm ashamed to admit... i think over the 7 years i've had the girls, we've amassed 8 coats. last time i checked there were only 3 dogs. but we've got light fleece, raincoats, heavy winter coats that we use over here, the previously mentioned bavarian coats, and a couple of plain black fleece snoods... leopard print would be so much cooler! i actually think i could probably make them easily with the sewing machine.

you've given me an idea...
